Type
Recombinant protein
Description
FGF2 is essential for cultivating human pluripotent stem cells, as it supports their pluripotent state. However, its thermal instability means daily media changes with fresh FGF2 are necessary — a time and resource challenging process.
Our stabilized variant maintains full biological activity for 20 days at 37 °C — compared to the wild type's half-life of just 10 hours — making cell culture maintenance more efficient and cost-effective.
Key Benefits of FGF2-STAB:
- Saves Time – No need for daily media changes thanks to enhanced thermostability.
- Saves Money – Reduced quantities achieve the desired cell proliferation effects.

Purity
˃ 95 % by SDS-PAGE
Endotoxin
< 1.0 EU/µg
Formulation
White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder, lyophilized from 20 mM potassium phosphate, 750 mM sodium chloride, pH 7.5.
Reconstitution
Reconstitute to 1.0 mg/mL by addition of 1 ml of water to each vial. This solution can then be further diluted into other aqueous solutions. Store reconstituted sample at 2 °C to 8 °C for 1 week.
Storage/Expiration
Store the lyophilized protein at 4 °C. Lyophilized protein remains stable until the expiry date when stored at 4 °C. Aliquot reconstituted protein to avoid repeated freezing/thawing cycles. Reconstituted protein can be stored at 2 °C to 8 °C for 1 week.
Quality Control Test
UV spectrophotometry at 280 nm to determine quantity of the protein.
Bioactivity.
SDS-PAGE to determine purity of the protein.
Endotoxin level determination.
